On November 17, Bishop Susan Bell installed this year's nominees from Brock, Hamilton-Haldimand, and Lincoln to the Order of Niagara at a special service held at the Cathedral. The Cathedral congratulates all recipients of this honour and in particular, we highlight Jennifer Early, the Cathedral's nominee. Below is the citation that was read on the 17th for Jennifer:
"Born during an air raid in wartime England, Jennifer Early first sang in a 10th century Anglican church. After a teaching career in Newfoundland, she brought her voice to our cathedral’s choir. She has been a faithful lector, greeter, hospitality host, and knitter in the prayer shawl ministry. She leads the “Brass Monkeys and Woodchucks” in maintaining the Cathedral’s beautiful fabric. Jennifer also helped establish both the Jamesville Day Care Centre and St. Matthew’s House programs for seniors and single mothers. She has also contributed to Hamilton life as an officer of IODE and volunteers at the local donkey sanctuary in Puslinch."
