Seluwa Said and her family faced extreme hardship in Tanzania’s Nyarugusu Refugee Camp – until joining the Sustainable Vegetable Farming Project run by Alongside Hope partner Church World Service...Originally from the Democratic Republic of Congo, Seluwa and her family were forced to flee to a refugee camp in Tanzania in 2018. They were surviving on one meal a day, with no money for soap, clothes, or school supplies.

In 2022...Said joined the Sustainable Vegetable Gardening Project...With newfound knowledge and resources, she was able to grow a bountiful harvest, enough for her family and neighbours, as well as the ability to generate income.  For the full story, please visit the  Alongside Hope News  page.
