The property in front of the Cathedral is known as Bishopsgate. It consists of a plaza, with benches, a central fountain and green space where all are welcome to rest, gather, and contemplate. It is maintained by a volunteer ministry called Lay Weeders, with funds donated by a generous parishioner.
This pollinator-friendly space is used to host worship services, receptions, and events from time to time, including the Makers' Market, which happens at the James Street Art Crawl.
