Christ's Church Cathedral is hosting a community education and engagement event featuring a panel of experts from:
- City of Hamilton's
- Drug and Opioid Strategy: a city-wide collaboration that addresses the harms associated with substance use experienced by individuals, families, and the community
- Alcohol, Drugs, and Gambling Services: provides free services including information, counselling, case management, referrals, and more
- Hamilton Police Services Rapid Intervention Support Team: aims to provide immediate support to individuals experiencing homelessness, mental illness, or addiction
- Hamilton Urban Core Community Health Centre: provides access to harm reduction education, counselling and supplies, overdose prevention, connections to healthcare, mental health, and addiction treatment
- Positive Health Network Harm Reduction Outreach: provides counselling services, outreach to people using drugs, leads training for local service providers, and more.
- St. Joseph's Healthcare's Rapid Access Addiction Medicine (RAAM) Clinic: focus on offering rapid assessment, pharmacological treatment, and connections to community treatment programs
An expert from each organization will make a brief presentation, participate in a facilitated panel discussion, and will be available to address questions.
