Buy fewer items, shop locally, shop second-hand, repair what you can! Focus on repurposing, regifting, or rehoming. Also consider making charitable “in honour” gifts, e.g. Alongside Hope World of Gifts!
Why?
Electronics, clothes, plastics and other items we buy cause carbon emissions at each point in production. Supporting local small businesses stimulates the economy where you live and “in honour” gifts share our concern for and make a difference in the lives of others less fortunate.
Impact?
We are using the equivalent of 1.6 Earths to maintain our current way of life, and ecosystems cannot keep up with our demands! Buying fewer new clothes and other consumer goods can reduce your carbon footprint.
