The Paschal Triduum is the period of three days that begins with the liturgy on the evening of Maundy Thursday, continuing with the Celebration of the Lord's Passion on Good Friday and reaches its high point with the Great Vigil of Easter on Holy Saturday.
The Great Vigil of Easter is the culmination of the 40-day period of Lent. It is celebrated after sundown on the night before Easter Sunday and commemorates Christ's passing from death to life.
