From July 5th to August 30th our doors are open every Sunday for anyone to drop in for peace and reflection in the middle of our busy city.   Feel free to light a candle, say a prayer, or just sit quietly in this beautiful space. Maybe you have never been in the Cathedral and just want to have a look around.  Maybe you would just like to listen to some quiet, peaceful music.  Whoever you are, whatever brings you to our doors, you are very welcome. If you have any questions during your visit, there is someone on hand from our Cathedral Community.

For level access please go to the reception door to the left of the main Cathedral entrances.

The tour will start ten minutes after the end of the postlude – feel free to bring your drink and snacks with you to the foot of the chancel steps.

Sandy Darling will lead a tour of about one hour after the morning service on August 30th for those who want to learn more about the place where you worship, and for those who are participating in Supercrawl as guides. The tour will focus on windows and carvings, the related Biblical texts, symbols, and who was memorialized.

Questions and discussion are encouraged.

Study the Bible in community through this drop-in participant-focused method of reading scripture together.  Discovery Bible Study is designed to meet the spiritual needs of our participants by considering what the biblical text tells us about God and human beings. 

You'll find us in the nave on Thursdays.  All are welcome!

Art Crawl is a wonderful way to engage with the community and to celebrate our beautiful Cathedral!   The success of Art Crawl at the Cathedral relies heavily on volunteers.  

• We need enough volunteers to have 2 shifts, so each shift would be for 1.5 hours
• Some volunteers will be responsible for hospitality, including greeting & guest support.
• A second set of volunteers will be responsible for Cathedral tours and information. 
• Orientation and training are available for both positions.

This fall, we will be again offering the very successful small-group program, Being With, from St. Martin-in-the-Fields, London.  Whether you know a little or a lot, come explore life and faith together.

All are very welcome to join us for a Taizé service every other month from September 2026 to  May 2027.

At a time of great stress and anxiety for many people, the peaceful songs, contemplative readings, and candlelit prayers in Taizé worship are a balm to the heart and spirit.  You are welcome to stay after the 10:30  service for the coffee hour and sit in the circle of chairs near the piano. The service lasts about half an hour.  If you have any questions about Taizé, please contact Bruce Burbidge.

Staying in touch with parishioners and friends of the Cathedral is key to our success as a place of community, compassion, and hope.   Our newsletters ensure that we keep all our constituents up to date with events and issues of the day.

Quarterly, we publish CONTACT, a magazine-style publication featuring a variety of articles on what’s happening at the Cathedral, our local community, and the world. The latest edition for Summer 2026 is now available in print from the back of the Church, or digitally using the button below.

The Cathedral is funded by monetary gifts from parishioners, friends, and visitors.  Your donation supports our many ministries including worship services, outreach, pastoral care, spiritual growth, climate change initiatives, and music programs, as well as the maintenance and upkeep of our heritage building and staff salaries. 

You are welcome to make a donation by cash or a cheque during our in-person services, either by placing it in the collection plate or in one of the donation boxes.  To receive a tax receipt, please ensure that you use an envelope  with your name on it.   Note:  If this is your first donation, please also include your mailing address.

There are a lot of excellent programs being highlighted on the Alongside Hope website this month.  We have partnerships with a housing project for adults with special needs in the Ukraine, partnerships in Uganda as Ebola threatens vulnerable communities and partnerships with St. Luke’s hospital in the West Bank. 

The last story leads us to the upcoming Wild Ride in the fall. This year we’re raising funds to provide solar panels for St. Luke’s Hospital.  St. Luke’s serves about 455,000 people in the West Bank,  but unreliable power makes health care precarious.   An article by Janice Biehn is available on Alongside Hope's website can be accessed here: The power of community health care in the West Bank©

Last year we raised money for Madagascar and Mozambique, providing 34 solar suitcases.  This year the plan is to raise funds to provide 407 solar panels for the West Bank.  It is estimated 80% of the electricity needed can be supplied by these panels.

Service Changes

• Sunday Sung Eucharist,  one service only at 10 am effective July 5 through to and including September 6.
• Morning Prayer on Tuesdays and Thursdays, cancelled effective July 14, resuming on September 10. 
• Wednesday Morning Prayer on Zoom has resumed.

Program Changes

• Being With will be taking a break for the summer.
• Cathedral Oasis with Labyrinth, every Sunday during July 12 noon to 1:30pm.  Note:  August is dependant on availability of volunteers.
• Digging Deeper, cancelled through all of July and August, resuming on September 13.

Our beautiful Cathedral nave is not air conditioned and can get quite warm in the summer.  Parishioners are encouraged to dress comfortably on Sunday mornings.  Water will be available in the narthex during the service to help everyone stay hydrated.  When temperatures climb, please use your judgment about venturing out to attend services.  Services are web-cast live each Sunday  on the Cathedral's YouTube Channel, and are stored to be accessed later as well.
