During the Easter season our Cathedral is enhanced with beautiful fresh flowers and plants.  If you would like to remember a loved one by making a donation toward the cost of these flowers and include their name(s) in the Easter Day Order of Service, please send a donation, of any amount, to the Cathedral office by cheque, cash, or e-transfer to cathedral@niagaraanglican.ca.

Study the Bible in community through this drop-in participant-focused method of reading scripture together.  Discovery Bible Study is designed to meet the spiritual needs of our participants by considering what the biblical text tells us about God and human beings. 

Please note that there will be no Bible Study on Maundy Thursday, April 2.

As a member of the Community of the Cross of Nails, we gather weekly at noon on Fridays to pray for peace, justice, and reconciliation.   We start our prayer with:

We stand together at this Friday noon hour to join with all those churches, schools, and other institutions who have committed themselves to the Community of the Cross of Nails. We search for reconciliation between ourselves and all those who have been harmed by war, by violence, by the effects of colonization and abuses of power, and by greed, selfishness, thoughtlessness and indifference.

The Anglican communities of downtown Hamilton are partnering again on a Lenten series of opportunities for faith formation and spiritual growth. This year's theme is Maturing into the Fullness of Christ.

Each session touches on a different facet of Christian life, from prayer to scripture to discipleship to interfaith relationships.

No registration is required. You are very welcome to attend as many sessions as you like simply by showing up at the scheduled time and place. Please note that Maturing Into the Fullness of Christ happens at several churches in downtown Hamilton.

Our doors are open on the first Sunday of every month - 12:30pm-2pm, during the months of  October to June for anyone to drop in for peace and reflection in the middle of our busy city.  Feel free to light a candle, say a prayer, or just sit quietly in this beautiful space. Maybe you have never been in the Cathedral and just want to have a look around?  Maybe you would just like to listen to some quiet, peaceful music?  Whoever you are, whatever brings you to our doors, you are very welcome. If you have any questions during your visit, there is someone on hand from our Cathedral Community.

Save Energy at Home & Reduce Greenhouse Gas Emissions!

Consider these climate friendly actions:

• Switch to LED light bulbs.
• Wash laundry in cold water, hang things to dry, take shorter showers.
• Insulate your windows, weatherstrip your doors, wear an extra layer, and adjust your thermostat.
• Replace an oil or gas furnace with a heat pump, review your energy bill to learn about your monthly usage.  

Why should we do this?  Studies show that the energy supply sector accounts for 35% of global emissions, the largest contributor to global greenhouse gas emissions!

Alongside Hope's mission is, “to help to bring about a truly healthy, just and peaceful world.” This work is done by working with several ecumenical and secular organizations.  There are eleven different groups. This month, we highlight the Canadian Foodgrains Bank.

In 1983 a group of Mennonite farmers in Alberta had a bumper crop of wheat. They decided to ship the grain to Ethiopia which was experiencing a devastating famine at the time and many were helped.  This “Christian response to hunger,” was the start of the Canadian Foodgrains Bank. 

Today, the Foodgrains Bank raises millions of dollars to support local organizations in 37 countries. They provide emergency food, training, and equipment in order to work towards sustainable development.

From the generosity and innovation of a small community, channelling hard work and imagination, the lives of many have been impacted.   This is truly an inspirational model.
