Christ's Church Cathedral Doors

Our central Cathedral main doors are being restored.
They will need to be in the workshop for about 2 months.
In the interim, the South doors will be used as the primary set of doors to access the Cathedral.
We hope that the project will be complete in advance of Holy Week.
It’s great to see this project get underway!

2025 Intention Forms

2025 Intention Forms

The Generosity Team

We continue to be excited about the possibility of Monica staying with us half time as priest-associate after her curacy is complete in February.

Thank you to the 20% of households who have made their 2025 giving intentions known already. The numbers are very encouraging. However, we would like so much to hear from the remaining 80% of households who have not submitted an intention from. Please do this as soon as you are able so that we can plan with a realistic idea of overall parishioner giving for 2025 and beyond.

2025 Intention forms can be easily found by following this link.

These Intention Forms are also available on the literature rack in the narthex.  If you would like to declare your intention to increase your givings in 2025, please complete the form online, or on paper form and drop it in the offering plate.  Alternatively, you can deliver it to the Parish Office for the attention of Paula Esteves.

We are so  thankful for the generosity in our wonderful Cathedral family

The Litany of Reconciliation

The Litany of Reconciliation

Friday 12:15pm

As a member of the Community of the Cross of Nails, we gather weekly at noon on Fridays to pray for peace, justice, and reconciliation.   We start our prayer with:

We stand together at this Friday noon hour to join with all those churches, schools, and other institutions who have committed themselves to the Community of the Cross of Nails. We search for reconciliation between ourselves and all those who have been harmed by war, by violence, by the effects of colonization and abuses of power, and by greed, selfishness, thoughtlessness and indifference.

Please click on Litany of Reconciliation for the prayer in its entirety.

A brief history of  the Litany of Reconciliation can be found on The Anglican Diocese of Ontario website.

February's Action from Climate Justice Cathedral

As part of our baptismal covenant, we are asked with God’s help to “strive to safeguard the integrity of God’s creation, and respect, sustain and renew the life of the Earth”

Ontarians will be going to the polls on Feb 27th. Scientists tell us the world’s major economies only have until 2030 to cut emissions in half from 2005 levels to avoid the most catastrophic impact of climate change in our lifetime.

We will not all agree on the best way forward but we need to pay attention to the campaign, listen to different points of view, and cast our ballots on Feb 27.

Alongside Hope

Alongside Hope (PWRDF) has created a reading list to coincide with Canada’s International Development Week (the 1st week of February). This list has books for all ages.  On the PWRDF website, Janice Biehn reminds us, “to come together to learn, share stories, and create change for a brighter more equitable world.”

It is well worth it for readers everywhere and of all ages, to visit the reading list!

We are!

Join the Hamilton Roundtable for Poverty Reduction as we host an important lunch-hour conversation on the Future of Income Security in Ontario. Close to 900,000 people in our province rely on social assistance programs: Ontario Works or the Ontario Disability Support Program as their primary income support. Join us for an in-depth discussion on the challenges and opportunities in Ontario's social assistance system.  What's next for poverty reduction and income security reforms?

Featured Speakers:

  • Joshua Smee – CEO, Food First Newfoundland - on how Newfoundland and Labrador is transforming social assistance
  • Jennefer Laidley – Researcher and lead author of Maytree Foundation's annual Welfare in Canada report
  • Sara Mayo – Social Planner, Social Planning & Research Council of Hamilton & author of  Indecent Social Assistance in Hamilton & Ontario
  • hosted by Laura Cattari, Senior Policy Analyst, Hamilton Roundtable for Poverty Reduction

  • The state of social assistance in Ontario today
  • Lessons from other provinces and potential reform

We continue to take extra steps to ensure that you are better protected against cybercrime scammers.  The following information is designed to help you stay a step ahead of those ‘smart scammers’ whose goals include obtaining your trust, money, and personal information, which could be traded, revealed, or used to perpetrate more cybercrime.

We encourage you to please look at the advice on the sites below, offering best practices on how to avoid cybercrime; what to do if you are suspicious of an email; and how to check URLs and email addresses before clicking; how to block scam senders as SCAM and not to forward on as part of the email stream!
