The Moravian ChurchA New Full-Communion Member in our Prayer Cycle Those of you who pray our weekly prayer cycle that includes our full- communion partner, the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Canada, will notice a difference starting with this new liturgical year: the Moravian Church in Canada has joined as a new partner in full-communion! Though there are 1 million Moravians currently worshipping worldwide there are less than 6,000 Moravians currently worshipping in Canada. This church is a rich history, beginning in Bohemia and Moravia 100 years before the Anglican Church was established. From the start, they have held that what makes a Christian is not doctrine or what they believe, but that a person lives their life according to the teachings of Jesus Christ. They are marked by their practices of passivism, ecumenism, music, and a passion for bringing the good news of God’s infinite love to the poorest and most despised people of the world. For more information on our new full-communion partners, go to www.moravian.org.

A Message from Generosity Team - from Dale Guenter
I walked into this church for the first time about 22 years ago. I let the stained glass dappled light, the sacred pipes and voices, and the teachings of love, all wash over me. I felt I was in God’s presence. Soon Brian Kreps, my partner, began coming here as well and we have felt welcomed, held and nourished here for more than 20 years. It did not take long and we felt we wanted to contribute. At different times we sang in choir, helped organize service teams, cooked food, joined committees, helped welcome the neighbourhood and organized prayer groups. On another note, Brian and I sometimes think about the money that has come to us. We have felt deeply blessed. We keep coming back to the question, is there a way we can channel this money to fuel love in our world? The blessing of money comes to each of us differently. It’s incredibly personal. |

Christmas is quickly approaching and once again, under the leadership of Richard Cunningham and Gen McIntyre, we are planning the 3rd Annual Cathedral Café Christmas Dinner. PWRDF (Alongside Hope)Shop our World of Gifts As December approaches, thoughts turn to Christmas baking, spending time with friends and family, and gift-giving. Popular gift-giving options include Secret Santa exchanges, minimizing gift budgets, or sharing gifts with others - all with a focus of acquiring fewer material items. Currently, PWRDF has a matching program for any items purchased through their Gift Catalogue. You can spend as little as $20 for seeds for women in Kenya, or $25 for a New Baby Kit in Lesotho. Please access their catalogue at World of Gifts. Your gift purchase is eligible for a tax receipt from PWRDF and, more importantly, you will have made a difference in the life of others less fortunate. Happy gift-giving to all!
