A special service of Evensong, here, celebrating the feast of the Transfiguration with the combined choirs of St. Jude's Oakville and Christ's Church Cathedral.  

The service will feature some gems of the Anglican choral tradition including a setting of the Magnificat and Nunc Dimittis written for King’s College, Cambridge (UK) by Herbert Howells, and Hubert Parry’s magnificent coronation anthem ‘I Was Glad’.

Ash Wednesday marks the start of the 40-day Lenten season–a time in which we are called to prayer, fasting, and repentance before celebrating Easter.  During the Ash Wednesday service, the priest makes the sign of the cross with ashes on a congregant's forehead.  The ashes are made by burning palm branches from the previous year's Palm Sunday.

The Corporation of Christ's Church Cathedral will be hosting a Pre-Vestry Budget meeting on Sunday, February 15, 2026 following the 10:30 service to give parishioners an opportunity to ask about the 2026 budget and discuss matters on our Mission Action Plan.  We look forward to your insights and questions.

The 2025 Annual Vestry Meeting will take place on Sunday, February 22, 2026, in accordance with Canon 4.1 Section 4, immediately following the 10:30am service.  At annual vestry meetings, financial statements for the previous year are received, church wardens, lay representatives, and parish council members are elected and/or appointed, a budget for the coming year is often passed, and any other business connected with the temporalities of the parish is transacted.

Please note that the Certified List of Vestry Members is displayed in a white folder at the back of Christ's Church Cathedral from January 18, 2026 until February 22, 2026.  If a person's name does not appear on the roll, that person may appeal to the Certification Committee by email no later than 72 hours before the time of the opening of the Vestry meeting to have their name added to the Certified List of Vestry Members.

With Pre-authorized Giving, donors have the option of having a monthly donation transferred directly from your bank account to the Cathedral on the same day each month.  You can stop or change your monthly donation at any time by notifying the Cathedral. If you would like to use this option to give, please download the Intention Form, fill it out, and send it to the attention of our Donations Administrator or the Administrative Assistant to the Dean, or place your Intention Form on the collection plate during a Sunday service.

Study the Bible in community through this drop-in participant-focused method of reading scripture together.  Discovery Bible Study is designed to meet the spiritual needs of our participants by considering what the biblical text tells us about God and human beings. 

You'll find us in the nave on Thursdays at 11:30am.  All are welcome!

As a member of the Community of the Cross of Nails, we gather weekly at noon on Fridays to pray for peace, justice, and reconciliation.   We start our prayer with:

We stand together at this Friday noon hour to join with all those churches, schools, and other institutions who have committed themselves to the Community of the Cross of Nails. We search for reconciliation between ourselves and all those who have been harmed by war, by violence, by the effects of colonization and abuses of power, and by greed, selfishness, thoughtlessness and indifference.

Our handmade prayer shawls have been and blessed and are available for the congregation to give to SOMEONE THAT NEEDS A HUG FROM GOD……is sick, grieving, sad, or whatever their need.

This February, help Alongside Hope honour Canada as we celebrate International Development Week (IDW).  It is a time to understand and be proud of how Canadians help to eradicate poverty worldwide.  Alongside Hope staff and members of the Youth Council have curated a reading list for children, youth, and adults.

Our men’s winter boots and running shoes are depleted at this time.  Please see if you can donate men’s shoes or boots, size 9.5 - 12, (with 10 and 10.5, being the most requested) to the Café.  Gently used running shoes and boots would be gratefully received.  We don’t expect anyone to go and buy new items.
