Weekly Prayer Cycle
In our Parish Cycle of Prayer we pray for Barbara Jepson, Michael and Kimber Johnston, Rory Jones, John Juurinen, Anne Kaewmongkol, Debbie Kempe, Diana Kennedy, and Margaret Kittle. In our Community and Partners Prayer Cycle we pray for The De dwa da dehs nye>s Aboriginal Health Centre (DAHC) - their mobile van comes to Cathedral Café, Find out more here. In the Anglican Cycle of Prayer we pray for the church of the Province of South East Asia. In the Anglican Church of Canada and the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Canada we pray for the Anglican Principal, faculty, students, and staff of the Vancouver School of Theology; and for the Evangelical Principal-Dean, faculty, students, and staff of Martin Luther University College; And together we pray for those who have died in war and for renewed commitment to work for peace. In our Diocese of Niagara we pray for our Bishop Susan Bell; and the All Saints Mission, Hamilton, the Reverend Canon Michael Deed, Priest Missioner, and the people of that parish. As a Community we pray for the victims of war, terrorism and criminal violence. Those who have asked to be remembered in our prayers: With ongoing needs Susan Andrews; Larry Andrews; Susan Worrall; Helen; Rachel and James; Adam Pearce; the Reverend Charles Meeks; Charlotte Read; Judi Mansfield-Jones; Brandon; Kelley; Michael; Mark and all affected by the fire at Charred Rotisserie; Millie; Dave; Heather Clark; Ezra Noble; Sr. Heather; and John Ellis. With current needs Derek; Bishop Ralph; Dane McDowell; Alistair Martin; Martha Rose; Barry Jefferies; Donelle de Vlaming; Allen Calvin and family; Jane; Jonathan James; Terry Leach; Lynn McKay; Harold; Joan Gilveear; and Sean. We pray for those preparing for baptism: Jim Ferguson; and Shauna Wright. Those who have recently died Shirley MacDougall; and Bernadette. All Saints Service
On Sunday November 3, we will hold our All Saints and All Souls Service at both 8:30am and 10:30am, The service marks a time of prayer and remembrance for those who have been loved and lost. The names of those who have died in the past year will be read out, and others commemorated on a memorial list.

Cathedral OasisAn Open Time for Peace and Reflection - Sunday, November 3, 2024 Our doors are open one Sunday per month for anyone to drop in for peace and reflection in the middle of our busy city. Feel free to light a candle, say a prayer, or just sit quietly in this beautiful space. Maybe you have never been in the Cathedral and just want to have a look around? Maybe you would just like to listen to some quiet, peaceful music? Whoever you are, whatever brings you to our doors, you are very welcome. Art CrawlFriday, November 8, 2024 Art Crawl is a wonderful way to engage with the community and to celebrate our beautiful Cathedral! It is safe and convenient to receive both the COVID-19 and flu shots at the same time, reducing the need for multiple visits. |
Diocese of Niagara 150th AnniversaryDiocesan Synod Happens Saturday The sesquicentennial Synod of the diocese will take place at the Burlington Convention Centre on November 2. Bishop Susan Bell has chosen the theme ‘Faith in the Future’ for our 150th Synod, inspired by Jeremiah 29:11, “For surely I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, plans for your welfare and not for harm, to give you a future with hope.” The agenda for Synod will include a charge from Bishop Susan Bell, the renewal of the diocesan Mission Action Plan (MAP), and a presentation on the Anglican Communion by Archbishop Linda Nicholls. Synod will also receive the 2023 auditor’s report and consider the 2025 diocesan budget, as well as two canon changes.

Cathedral Café Winter Clothes Drive
WANTED!Lightly used winter clothing!The Cathedral thanks all those who so generously donated summer clothing to our Café guests. Summer is now over and we are looking ahead to another Canadian winter. As you know, many of our guests are unhoused or precariously housed. The coming of winter presents the added challenge of how to keep warm and survive another Canadian winter. We humbly ask for your help once again to donate your lightly used winter clothing. The Cathedral Café is looking for the following: Winter coats/Track Pants/T-shirts/Sweatshirts/Sweaters/Socks/Sports bras/Running shoes/Winter boots/Backpacks/Toques/Gloves The Cafe is also looking for any unwanted large mugs and board games such as scrabble, chess, backgammon etc. Please connect with Turner or Kerry who will ensure these gifts go to our Cathedral Café guests.
