CAMPAIGN PLANNING HAS BEGUN
Monday marks the launch of our planning study and Bishop Susan Bell is asking for your help. In the coming weeks, we’ll be canvassing people across the diocese about what you believe are most important priorities for our ministries, where you see the Spirit leading our diocese, and to gauge support for a major parish-focused fundraising campaign. The primary focus for this campaign will be to resource parishes and missions to support their Mission Action Plan (MAP) initiatives. In addition, we are also hoping to support several other major projects and initiatives, including: • creating an endowment to provide ongoing funds for lay and ordained missional leadership, including support for curacy positions and church planters; • fostering Indigenous healing and reconciliation initiatives; and • equipping our shared ministries facilitated through St. Matthew’s House, Canterbury Hills, and Christ's Church Cathedral. The goal of the proposed campaign is to lift up the ministry of our parishes and missions and to resource these vitally important ministries, which serve as the face and hands of Christ in our community. The planning study will include personal interviews, a mail and online survey, and a series of town halls and listening sessions. We’re looking forward to hearing your valuable opinions. |

DIGGING DEEPER ANGLICANISM 101
Anglicanism is rich with symbolism and history, but even if you've been Anglican for years, you might not know why we do all the things we do. This series of talks is aimed at explaining the basic structure of the liturgy, some simple Anglican history (if there is such a thing), and a little about the structure and culture of the church. Drop in when you can. And if we end up with so many questions and discussion that we run more than four sessions, so much the better! We'll meet in the Spence Room after the second service (around 12:15pm). You're welcome if you don't know anything, and you're welcome if you know almost everything. (I could certainly still learn more from some of you!)
