 COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

 COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

At our last community engagement meeting, we acknowledged our ministries in connecting with our local community. We felt one way in which we could further support them is through prayer. We’d invite your submissions for prayer to create a new prayer list including businesses, organizations, and groups for which you would like to pray. Please send all submissions to Sue Crowe–Connolly at croweconnolly@gmail.com

A PRAYER FROM THE CLIMATE JUSTICE CATHEDRAL COMMITTEE

A PRAYER FROM THE CLIMATE JUSTICE CATHEDRAL COMMITTEE

The Climate Crisis is like a call to the people of the world to be accountable for their stewardship. The call comes from a variety of voices: Greta Thunberg, David Suzuki, António Guterres, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. …the land where we live and which sustains us is crying out as a result of our treatment of it. It’s being left to each of us to become aware of what we are doing and make the changes necessary for the wellbeing of ourselves, our children and grandchildren.

PWRDF PLANNING FOR THE FUTURE

PWRDF PLANNING FOR THE FUTURE

Support or join our team, the Cathedral Crusaders, as we walk together to raise funds for the PWRDF Wild Ride!

This year's Wild Ride will be dedicated to the memory of the Rev. Canon Greg Smith. Greg was a beloved PWRDF volunteer in the

Diocese of Huron for 20 years and passed away suddenly on May 6th.

In 2022, twelve teams came together to participate in PWRDF's inaugural campaign and raised over $40,000 to assist its partners in their efforts to aid refugees and internally displaced people (IDPs) worldwide.

The Cathedral Crusaders raised $3,300 of this amount.  Building on the success of its first-ever Wild Ride last year, PWRDF's ambitious fundraising goal for 2023 is $50,000. The 2023 PWRDF Wild Ride will run until Thanksgiving Day, October 9th, and is once again supporting PWRDF's partners who work with refugees or internally displaced persons (IDPs) in countries such as Tanzania, South Sudan, Jordan, Ukraine, and others. For more information on PWRDF's Wild Ride Campaign for 2023, or to support/join our Cathedral Crusaders team, please visit www.pwrdf.org/wild-ride/.  Watch in future issues of the Chronicle for more details of our walk! Thank you for your continued prayers and support of PWRDF  and its partners!

For information on more ways to support PWRDF, please contact your PWRDF Parish Representative at:  louise.vanwoelderen@gmail.com or at (905)387-1820.
