BOOK STUDY

BOOK STUDY

The Unfolding Gospel by John Bowen
We plan to read together Dr. John Bowen’s book, The Unfolding Gospel, which looks at the future of the church in our secular age. Many are discouraged about that future and Dr.Bowen's book seeks to restore hope through his conviction that the solution is to recover a theological vision--that of Jesus and his Gospel which transforms every aspect of life.

We will meet on Tuesdays 1.30-3pm in the Spence Room from April 25 through May 16.

Please be in touch with Tricia in the Cathedral office asap if you would like to participate.
Books are available for $20.

DIGGING DEEPER

DIGGING DEEPER

Did the homily stir up anything in you? Are there questions you'd like to explore about the readings?

Do you have a burning desire to have someone awkwardly attempt to explain Greek verb tenses to you based on six seconds of quick research?

Then come join us in the Living Room after the second service each Sunday around 12:15pm!

We continue to talk each week about what strikes us from the homily and the scripture readings and do our best to explore the connections to our lives.

We'd love to have you contribute your thoughts to the conversation.

CALLING FOR COUNTERS

CALLING FOR COUNTERS

The Cathedral is looking for counters to assist with counting weekly donations as part of a team. The maximum time requirement for this volunteer position is an hour or so a month. Volunteers count and balance donations from the Sunday and midweek services, Diocesan services, and fundraising activities.  Those interested, or for more information, please contact George Down or the Cathedral office at cathedral.admin@niagaraanglican.ca or in person.

Thank you to all volunteers!

Masks Strongly Recommended

Current guidelines encourage mask wearing, particularly in crowded, enclosed, and close-contact settings. Effective immediately, Bishop Susan is strengthening guidance to mirror the chief medical officer of health's strong recommendation that masks be worn in indoor settings. By doing so, and applying additional layers of protection, we will not only protect ourselves but our most vulnerable neighbours. In this way, we are also bearing strong witness to God's call to love our neighbours.

Prayer Shawls and Blankets

Prayer Shawls and Blankets

The Prayer Shawl Knitters Group has made available to the parish a wonderful abundance of both prayer shawls and lap blankets. If you happen to know of anyone who might be in need and might benefit from one of these beautiful items, please contact the parish office either in person or at cathedral.admin@niagaraanglican.ca

A PRAYER FOR THE SECOND SUNDAY OF EASTER

A PRAYER FOR THE SECOND SUNDAY OF EASTER

Creator of the universe, you made the world in beauty, and restore all things in glory through the victory of Jesus Christ.

We pray that, wherever your image is still disfigured by poverty, sickness, selfishness, war and greed, the new creation in Jesus Christ may appear in justice, love, and peace, to the glory of your name. Amen.
