PWRDF
On February 6th, near the Turkish/Syrian border, there was a devastating 7.8 magnitude earthquake. More than 5,000 people have been killed and thousands more injured and trapped beneath the rubble. Rescue and recovery work is continuing. The ACT Alliance, a global partnership of more than 145 churches and related organizations from over 120 countries, has many members working in the area who have been responding to humanitarian needs, providing live-saving supplies to impacted people—supplies like food, blankets, mattresses, and medical aid in the affected communities. Plans are underway from other ACT members to supply winterization materials, ambulances and other needed supplies. PWRDF will immediately allocate $35,000 to the ACT Alliance to support its members working in the area. PWRDF is also accepting funds to support this appeal. HOW CAN YOU HELP? Plese keep the people affected by this devastating earthquake in your prayers. Donations can be made to support PWRDF's responsse on their website www.pwrdf.org. Also, you can call 416-822-9083. COLDEST NIGHT OF THE YEAR
Will you join the Christ’s Church Cathedral team in the Coldest Night of the Year Walk? Thank you to the 10 people that have already joined our Christ's Church Cathedral team for the CNOY 2 km walk on Saturday, February 25 at approximately 4.00 pm. CNOY is a lot of fun and so valuable - would you consider joining us? Just click our team page link below to begin. https://secure.e2rm.com/registrant/TeamFundraisingPage.aspx?teamID=994480&langPref=en-CA Would you consider a financial donation to the CNOY?
The Coldest Night of the Year (CNOY) is Canada's National Walk for Homelessness. The walk raises money for folks in our community who need our help. Some of them hungry, more than a few hurting and regrettably, some who are homeless too. We will be walking for the Helping Hands Street Mission, a neighbour on Barton St. E. Last year, over 31,000 walkers across Canada joined this event raising just under $12 million dollars – Christ’s Church Cathedral was one of the teams with 18 people, contributing more than $4000. Please connect with the team captain, Kerry Lubrick (kerryllubrick@gmail.com or 905-679-2818) with any questions. |

Cathedral Offertory
The Cathedral has now resumed the passing of Offering Plates. The plates will be passed by the Greeters and brought to the altar with the elements. You may recall this was suspended at the beginning of the pandemic, when there was uncertainty about how the virus was spread, and replaced by a box near the Narthex. At the Offertory, we offer back some of what God has given us, symbolically in the bread and wine, and in our contributions toward the work of the church. All are invited to support the sharing of God’s love with the world through giving by Pre-Authorized Payment, online through our website (for details, please use link below) or by weekly envelope. Masks Strongly Recommended
Current guidelines encourage mask wearing, particularly in crowded, enclosed, and close-contact settings. Effective immediately, Bishop Susan is strengthening guidance to mirror the chief medical officer of health's strong recommendation that masks be worn in indoor settings. By doing so, and applying additional layers of protection, we will not only protect ourselves but our most vulnerable neighbours. In this way, we are also bearing strong witness to God's call to love our neighbours. |
Flowers
If you would like to place flowers at the altar or at the chancel steps to honour or to celebrate your loved ones, please contact Donelle de Vlaming (289-239-9649). The donation for the flowers is $130 |
