PWRDF DIOCESAN REPRESENTATIVES, BOARD AND YOUTH COUNCIL MEET FOR NATIONAL GATHERING
After three years of meeting on Zoom, PWRDF recently convened a national gathering of Diocesan Representatives, board members and Youth Council members in Toronto. (Look for our own Kerry Lubrick in the second row!) The event was hybrid and several volunteers who were unable to travel joined on Zoom. PWRDF welcomed Josephine Kizza Aliddeki, director of St. Jude Family Projects, a PWRDF partner in Uganda. She shared the challenges and successes of supporting women and girls and taking climate action through agricultural training. Click here to watch the video! Other items on the agenda included the latest version of the Mapping Exercise and a commissioning service led by Primate Linda Nicholls. Thank you for your continued prayers and support of PWRDF and its partners!

WE ARE LOOKING FOR VOLUNTEERS!
We are looking for volunteers to fill two essential positions! If you’d like to become more involved in the life of our Cathedral—we’d love to hear from you! We are looking for an individual to maintain our child-friendly space in the Cathedral on an ongoing basis. This involves monitoring the space to ensure it’s tidy, checking that toys and books are in good condition and clean, & advising wardens of anything that requires attention. This position does not involve a huge time commitment but will make a huge difference to parents and young children attending Christ’s Church Cathedral! We are also looking for 2 or 3 people on Saturdays to open and close the building for volunteers for Hamilton Out of the Cold (HOOTC), one of our most important ministry partners. HOOTC prepares hot ‘grab and go’ meals for up to 200 people experiencing housing and food insecurity in our neighbourhood. This volunteer role involves being at the church on Saturday from 9:45am to 10:15 to open the building and greet HOOTC volunteers and again from 4;45pm—5:15pm to close the building. We hope to assemble a small team for these duties. To explore either of these options, please contact Elizabeth Wensley (Warden) at eawensley@gmail.com or 905-807-2596. |
HOSPITALITY TEAM
Do you enjoy being part of a dynamic team and meeting people? Please join our Cathedral “Hospitality Team”! We need you and are looking for volunteers to be part of a team to assist with large parish and Diocesan events. If you are interested in or have questions about being part of our “Hospitality Team”, please contact: |
WRESTLING ANGELS
A new monthly gathering led by Rev. Jeff, Wrestling Angels is a chance to engage with the stories of scripture in a casual setting, as we learn to ask questions of the text and encounter God in the most unlikely of places. Fall gatherings are scheduled for November 16 and December 7, from 7 to 9 pm. |

CHRISTMAS CARDS & VISUAL GUIDE
In 2008 the Cathedral started to produce Christmas cards using images from the stained- glass windows in our Cathedral in response to people who wished to see Nativity scenes and a greeting that included the word “Christmas”. Cards will be on sale again on Sunday mornings from November 13 - December 18 for $1.25 each. The Visual Guide to Christ’s Church Cathedral will also be available for $10.00 per copy. The guide provides a self-guided tour of the building with many photos and short explanatory text. |
COMMUNITY CELEBRATION
A Time to Celebrate! Sunday, October 30, offered us many opportunities to celebrate at Christ’s Church Cathedral! At our 10:30 am service, we were thrilled to recognize Sister Heather’s 25 years in orders and following the service, we enjoyed the dedication of our newly refurbished office and living room space ! Later in the day, we celebrated the Order of Niagara Service here at the Cathedral and were thrilled to see the honour bestowed on our own Pat Barton! A wonderful day for celebration!

BRASS MONKEYS
The Brass Monkeys are a group who gather in the cathedral on the third Thursday morning of each month from 8:30 – noon. We have them to thank for the lustre of our brass items and polished woodwork! If you would enjoy assisting with these tasks, they would welcome your participation. Please be in touch with the Rev. Canon Bill Thomas if you would like further information. Next meeting November 16! More hands welcome! |
