CHORAL EVENSONGAll are invited to attend a very special Evensong service at Christ's Church Cathedral on Thursday, September 15 at 7:30 pm. The Right Reverend and Right Honourable Dr. Rowan Williams, Baron Williams of Oystermouth, priest, theologian, and poet, will preach at the service. Archbishop Rowan served as the 104th Archbishop of Canterbury from 2002 to 2012, and before that as the Archbishop of Wales and Bishop of Monmouth. He is here in his capacity as Episcopal visitor to The Oratory of the Good Shepherd. A time of fellowship will be shared during a reception following the service. |

CELEBRATION OF LIFEOn Wednesday, August 31st we celebrated the life of Dr. Frederick Albert Hall, husband of the Reverend Canon Dr. Sharyn Hall. Unfortunately, due to an internet outage, the live stream of the service had some disruptions. The Primate's World Relief & Development Fund “ Wild Ride” is supporting partners and programs that work with refugees and internally displaced persons of which there are over 100 million worldwide. On Saturday, September 24th, our team, the “Cathedral Crusaders”, will walk in PWRDF's Wild Ride to raise funds for this worthwhile cause. ST. MATTHEW'S HOUSEThank you for your ongoing donations of food for the Food Bank at St. Matthew’s House. We received this message of thanksgiving from them on August 31st: Dear Friends On behalf of St. Matthew’s House, but more importantly, the community that we serve, we would like to say THANK YOU for your donations of 247 pounds of food so far for 2022. Throughout the last two years, we have noticed a large increase in seniors reaching out for support and staff have been busy helping them connect and improve many aspects in their life. Programs at St. Matthew’s House offer a range of support from: We are not able to provide these valuable programs without the generous support from people such as yourself. Through the pandemic, we have engaged with many seniors who faced isolation and food insecurity. Our jobs are far from finished. We strive to be a place where hope lives and this helps us ensure that those in need have the supports they require.
