CARE FOR KENYAN ASYLUM SEEKERS
As many of you are aware, there have been a significant number of asylum seekers arriving in Hamilton from Kenya. Parishes from within our Diocese are aiming to provide a meal at All Saints Mission in Hamilton on September 13 at 1pm, allowing parish representatives an opportunity to introduce themselves and their faith communities. It is also our aim to provide a bag of personal necessities to each person. Items requested are: toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorant, small wet wipe packages, reusable grocery bags, reusable water bottles (new only), face towels, socks (new only), protein bars & small individually packaged snacks. If anyone is able to donate these items, we will be collecting them until September 4. Please drop by the Cathedral office Monday—Thursday or deposit in the labelled box in the Narthex (see warden on duty if you have any questions). Financial donations to help cover these necessities are also welcome (please contact the Parish Office for more information about financial donations). Please note that any left-over items will be donated forward either to the Cathedral Café or to the Indigenous Drop-In Centre for the homeless.

A WORD FROM THE CLIMATE JUSTICE CATHEDRAL COMMITTEE
Think of the world as not belonging to God alone but to God and ourselves. Not either or, both. Misusing the resources of this world could prove disastrous for generations to come. We are only just discovering that misusing is exactly what we have been doing. Our government acted on our behalf during the COVID crisis, but It is leaving it mostly up to us to deal with the climate crisis.

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
At our last community engagement meeting, we acknowledged our ministries in connecting with our local community. We felt one way in which we could further support them is through prayer. We’d invite your submissions for prayer to create a new prayer list including businesses, organizations, and groups for which you would like to pray. Please send all submissions to Sue Crowe Connolly at croweconnolly@gmail.com |

IN-CANADA EMERGENCY RESPONSE FUND
In this year of unprecedented wildfires from coast to coast, PWRDF is establishing a fund specifically for in‑Canada emergency response. In recent years, Canada has experienced an increase in the frequency and severity of natural disasters such as wildfires, hurricanes, and floods, affecting thousands. This new fund will allow PWRDF to respond quickly when a diocese asks for support, rather than wait to raise funds for individual disasters. You can donate directly to the fund here. You may also mail a cheque to PWRDF at 80 Hayden Street, 3rd floor, Toronto, ON, M4Y 3G2. Please indicate In-Canada Emergency in the memo field. Lastly, donate during business hours by calling 416-822-9083 (or leave a message toll-free at 1-866-308-7973) and your call will be returned.
