In the Anglican Church of Canada  we pray for The Rt. Rev. John Watton, Bishop, and the people and clergy of the Diocese of Central Newfoundland. 

In our Diocese of Niagara  we pray for our Bishop, The Right Reverend Susan Bell; St. John, Nassagaweya, Campbellville, The Reverend Stephen Blackmore, Interim Priest-in-Charge, and the people of that parish.   

As a community  we pray for the homeless and those living in extreme poverty; those who struggle with debt and unemployment.

The Coldest Night of the Year (CNOY) is Canada's National Walk for Homelessness.  The walk raises money for folks in our community who need our help. Some of them hungry, more than a few hurting and regrettably, some who are homeless too. We will be walking for the Helping Hands Street Mission, a neighbour on Barton St. E.  Last year, over 31,000 walkers across Canada joined this event raising just under $12 million dollars – Christ’s Cathedral was one of the teams with 18 people, contributing more than $4000.

Jeni Darling and Sue Crowe Connolly will be leading a Lector's workshop on Sunday, Feb. 26 after coffee hour.  This is offered anyone who would like to read, are new to the role and veterans who would like a review.  We'll practice the delivery, as well as getting into the text. If you're interested, please sign up on the sheet in the Narthex, or speak with Sue.

The major annual fundraiser for the Living Rock Youth Centre, a local non-profit in Hamilton,  Living Rock has been supporting the vulnerable since 1985. The funds raised through Soupfest will be directed to programs and resources offered to support youth who are in need. Living Rock provides a place of belonging , safety and bridge to the wider community. They also help youth develop a personal vision for their lives and futures.   Each ticket costs $20.00 and  will provide 4-4oz bowls of soup from the participating restaurants of your choice.

  Join us for our monthly Wrestling Angels gathering led by Reverend Jeff!  

Our next meeting date will be February 8, from 7-9pm in the Living Room at the Cathedral.   

Wrestling Angels is a chance to engage with the stories of scripture in a casual setting , as we learn to ask questions of the text and encounter God in the most unlikely of places.     

 Join Matthew Green  weekly for a lectionary study after the 2nd service each week.   

   The Prayer Shawl Knitters Group has made available to the parish a wonderful abundance of both prayer shawls and lap blankets. If you happen to know of anyone who might be in need and might benefit from one of these beautiful items, please contact the parish office either in person or at cathedral.admin@niagaraanglican.ca   

The Cathedral has now resumed the passing of Offering Plates. The plates will be passed by the Greeters and brought to the altar with the elements. You may recall this was suspended at the beginning of the pandemic, when there was uncertainty about how the virus was spread, and replaced by a box near the Narthex. At the Offertory, we offer back some of what God has given us, symbolically in the bread and wine, and in our contributions toward the work of the church. All are invited to support the sharing of God’s love with the world through giving by Pre-Authorized Payment, online through our website (for details, please use link below) or by weekly envelope.    

Current guidelines encourage mask wearing, particularly in crowded, enclosed, and close-contact settings. Effective immediately, Bishop Susan is strengthening guidance to mirror the chief medical officer of health's strong recommendation that masks be worn in indoor settings. By doing so, and applying additional layers of protection, we will not only protect ourselves but our most vulnerable neighbours. In this way, we are also bearing strong witness to God's call to love our neighbours.
