Tricia was born into the Anglican communion in Oakville, Ontario. Her parents, history graduates, instilled in her a love of the Church, a love of history (perhaps better described as an obsession), a love of reading, and a love of travel. These four passions have had a profound influence in her life.
Tricia’s love of the Church can be traced back to her early teens when she volunteered to be a server at St. Cuthbert’s Church, Oakville at 8:00am every Sunday for years – not surprisingly, the only teenager to volunteer! She has been an active participant in church life ever since. Tricia describes herself as an old soul who loves every tradition of the church.
Her love of history led her to Trinity College to study Classical History - she knows more about Julius Caesar than any modern pop group. For her, the ancient world is so much more fascinating. Tricia holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts Degree in Classics from U of T with Distinction. It was at Trinity College that she met her husband, Bahman, a Divinitystudent in chapel at the time. Together they have forged a life in the Church.
Tricia’s parents took her to Europe for the 1st time for her 16th birthday. She was enchanted. So, after university, she decided not to pursue a further degree and took up a career in travel. She has travelled a great deal, first with her parents and then with her husband. As Tricia says, “travels opens the mind and I had a lovely time in that career, but serving the church is my love.”
