WEEKLY PRAYER CYCLE

 In our Parish Cycle of Prayer we pray for Carlyle Callender; Al Calvin; Colin Campbell & Louise van Woelderen. 

In the Anglican Cycle of Prayer we pray for the Church of the Province of South East Asia.  

In the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Canada we pray for The Lutheran Collegiate Bible Institute in Outlook Saskatchewan.  

In the Anglican Church of Canada we pray for The Rt. Rev. Shane Parker, Bishop, The Rt. Rev. Michael Bird, Assisting Bishop and the people and clergy of the Diocese of Ottawa.  

In our diocese of Niagara we pray for our Bishop, The Right Reverend Susan Bell, Christ Church, McNab, The Reverend Dorothy Hewlett, Rector and the people of that parish.  

As a community we pray for victims of domestic and family abuse and violence, especially women and children and  those who help, support, counsel and care for them.

 Last Sunday, (L-R) Ross Thompson, Rayne Thompson, Rob Miller, Rob Jones (presenter), and Dena Thomas participated in a joy-filled service of confirmation, reception, and reaffirmation led by Bishop Susan Bell.

May the Spirit of our living God be ever with those who were confirmed, received, and reaffirmed as they seek to serve the Way of Jesus through their diverse vocations.

FREE NALOXONE TRAINING

We are please to extend an invitation to attend one of the Naloxone Training sessions scheduled for May 26 from 6.30 pm to 8.00 pm and May 27 from 1 pm to 2.30 pm. This training will be held in Myler Hall at Christ’s Church Cathedral, 252 James St. N. Hamilton.  

Naloxone is a medication that temporarily counters the effects of opioid overdose. The naloxone training is for any non-medically prepared individual, who might be in the position to respond to an opioid overdose. Training addresses prevention, recognition, and treatment of an opioid overdose, including administration of the opioid antidote, naloxone.

THE QUEEN'S PLATINUM JUBILEE

THE QUEEN'S PLATINUM JUBILEE

On Sunday, June 5 at 4:30 pm Dean Tim Dobbin and the congregation of Christ's Church Cathedral will host a special diocesan service of Sung Evensong, commemorating the 70th Anniversary of the Accession of Her Majesty The Queen.

Bishop Susan Bell will be the preacher and a special choir,
led by Bruce Cross, will perform.

This service will also be livestreamed on the diocesan YouTube channel.

Points will be credited to the Cathedral’s account for every purchase if the Cathedral’s telephone number 527-1316 is quoted at the time of sale.  The programme is operated all year and will result in 5% for the Cathedral.    

LAY WEEDERS

The Lay Weeders are recruiting new talent, beginner to expert. We are a small but mighty group, responsible for gentle tasks such as planting the concrete planters around the Cathedral, pruning roses, some weeding. We are ably supported by Eric the Cathedral Gardener who does the heavy work. If you are interested please contact Jeni Darling at 905 925 7841  We usually meet on Friday mornings in the garden from 10:00 until no later than noon starting May 13th.

 PWRDF strengthens support to ACT Ukraine Appeal   

 PWRDF will allocate another $70,000 to support Ukrainians on both sides of the Ukrainian/Hungarian border. Leveraging $20,000 of donations received for Ukraine relief with a 2.5 to 1 match will allow us to receive a total of $70,000.  

PWRDF previously allocated $100,000 to the ACT Alliance appeal supporting the work of Hungarian Interchurch Aid.
