THE JAMESVILLE CHILDREN’S CENTRE is actively seeking applications for the position of EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR.

The Executive Director is responsible for the successful leadership and management of the organization according to the strategic direction of the Board of Directors. The Executive Director ensures the centre is operated in compliance the Child Care Early Years Act, Municipal regulatory bodies, Public Health, the Occupational Health and Safety Act, the Hamilton Fire Department, and the Ministry of Finances Not for Profit Act. The duties and responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to LEADERSHIP, OPERATIONAL MANAGEMENT & BOARD RELATIONS, PROGRAM & CENTRE MANAGEMENT, HUMAN RESOURCES, CLIENT & FAMILY RELATIONS and COMMUNITY RELATIONS/ADVOCACY.

Qualifications – degree in Early Childhood Education or equivalent (as defined by Ontario Ministry of Education); registration with the College of Early Childhood Educators; CPR (including infant CPR) and First Aid certification; satisfactory Police Records Check including Vulnerable Sector Screening; knowledge of child development including children with special needs; knowledge of “How Does Learning Happen” ELECT and the emergent curriculum; working knowledge of CCEYA; and all other required training set out by Human Rights, Occupational Health & Safety, and the Ontario Ministry of Education

Experience – minimum five (5) years experience in child care management as a supervisor or assistant supervisor in a not for profit setting.
